Ink on paper: how quaint!
Circa 2009 C.E.: is the business card still relevant? Maybe. Depending on the business, its overall philosophy, the Brand, and the ultimate goal of the interaction when and where the business car (or the lack of) is needed.
The interesting question is: in an innovative and web-powered business (2.0, 3.0, XX.whatever) is the Earth-unfriendly business card as we know it still relevant?
I am presently experimenting a no-business card project. You’ve probably arrived here to get in touch with me / stay in touch with me. Just like in the Matrix, when Morpheous gave Neo the choice of two pills, here you have two choices as well:
- For Personal contacts: let’s use Facebook (when in doubt use this, please);
- For Business contacts: let’s use LinkedIn.
By now you might wonder about other forms of communications:
- Email: I receive too many emails already, I am sure you do too. Let’s connect via Facebook or LinkedIn, and if necessary we’ll move from web 2.0 to web 1.0 by exchanging email;
- Telephone = interruption. I am always busy either working, living, reading, meditating or just BE-ing. I am sure you are too. Just like email, when and if necessary we’ll exchange the pre-web preferred method of contact: the magic 10-digit number;
- Fax: PASS!
- Snail mail: see email.
- If you really must, you can contact me using the form below.
